Dr. Volker Wetekam joins Agfa HealthCare as Executive Vice President for IT

Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, announces today that it has hired Dr. Volker Wetekam as its new Executive Vice President for its global HealthCare IT division. Dr. Wetekam will head up an operation of around 3.000 staff members and report directly to Christian Reinaudo, President of Agfa HealthCare. He will take up his new position on September 15th, 2008.

Agfa HealthCare awarded new contract with Premier for Film and Medical Imagers

Agfa HealthCare announced today that it has been awarded a new three-year contract with Premier Purchasing Partners, L.P., to provide film and medical imagers at competitive terms and conditions to the healthcare alliance's 2,000 member hospitals and 53,000 other alternate healthcare sites in the United States.

Agfa HealthCare integrates OrthoView™ into IMPAX™

Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, and Meridian Technique Ltd., announce today that they have signed an agreement to integrate Meridian’s leading orthopaedic digital planning solution, OrthoView™, into Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX™ for Orthopaedics solution. Developed in conjunction with the orthopaedic community, OrthoView consists of 5 specialist modules: Joint Replacement, Fracture Management, Limb Deformity Correction, Pediatrics and Spine. Together, OrthoView and Agfa HealthCare’s own embedded Measurement tools IMPAX provide a complete set of functions for the Orthopaedic department.

Agfa HealthCare announces launch of its leading Nursing Solution ORBIS(TM) Care in Belgium

Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, and the Imelda Hospital in Bonheiden (Belgium) announced today that more than 15,000 nursing documentation forms have been registered electronically in ORBISTM, after the initial go-live in November, 2007. The Imelda Hospital is one of Agfa HealthCare's pilot sites in Belgium and the first of eight Belgian ORBIS customers that have gone live with ORBIS Care.
