Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical and diagnostic imaging solutions announces today that it has been selected by King Edward VII’s Hospital Sister Agnes as the provider of choice for its Radiology Information Systems (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) and Computed Radiography (CR) solutions. Agfa HealthCare’s fully integrated IT solutions will help transform the Hospital’s information workflow, improving efficiency and productivity and delivering high-quality services to staff and patients alike.

King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes is a prestigious private, acute care Hospital in the United Kingdom, and has a reputation for offering the highest standards of medical excellence, combining the most modern equipment and facilities to deliver high standards of care. Over the next two months, Agfa HealthCare will install its IMPAX® RIS, IMPAX PACS and CR 35-X Digitizers with NX workstations at the Hospital.

Brian Turner, Imaging Project Manager, King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes commented: "Agfa HealthCare was the Hospital's preferred choice because its solutions were very user friendly - essentially, they were more intuitive. The track record and experience of Agfa HealthCare's project team also convinced us that they could deliver the project on time and within budget".

Agfa HealthCare's leading IMPAX PACS solution provides benefits to both the hospital and patients, providing secure management and access to the medical record across the entire enterprise. IMPAX is scaleable and highly connectable, allowing it to partner with legacy systems and the output from multi-slice CT scanners, and other new equipment that will be installed over time.

Commenting on the installation David Jenkins, Territory Sales Manager said: "This installation is an important one for Agfa HealthCare, as it is based on the adaptability and security that the system offers. It was important that the data could be captured from existing legacy systems as well as new systems which will be introduced in the coming years. In light of the acute nature of the services offered by the hospital, it was also important that all patient records were quickly available on demand, for which integration capabilities of the IMPAX solution are ideal."

Dr Paul Butler, Director of Imaging, King Edward VII Sister Agnes, commented: "At King Edward VII Hospital the radiologists have been delighted with Agfa HealthCare's RIS/PACS. Several of us already use the system at our other hospitals but, especially for those who were new to the Agfa HealthCare RIS/PACS, its incorporation into their radiological practice here has been extremely smooth. The solution has a thoroughly deserved reputation for its user-friendly and often intuitive operation, facilitated by excellent after-sales training and support from the Agfa HealthCare team".
